At Avatar Imports, we believe that fashion should not only look good but also do good. From the very beginning, we have been dedicated to creating opportunities for marginalized communities by providing fair wages, ethical working conditions, and sustainable employment.

Our journey with fair trade began with a simple realization—while we sought to share beautiful, bohemian-inspired fashion with the world, we also had the power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the artisans who craft our clothing.

Fair Trade: A Foundation for Change

Nepal, where our garments are produced, is a country filled with rich cultural heritage and skilled artisans. However, many workers have historically faced challenging living and working conditions, struggling to earn a fair wage. Seeing this firsthand, we made a commitment to uphold fair trade principles, ensuring that our workers are provided with:

✅ Skill development opportunities for long-term growth
✅ A sense of dignity and empowerment through ethical work

We are proud to be the first clothing manufacturer in Nepal to have our partner factory certified by Fair Trade Group Nepal, a long-standing member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). This certification was not achieved overnight—it required over two years of rigorous assessments and a dozen facility visits to ensure our factory met the highest ethical and environmental standards.

Beyond Business: A Movement for Empowerment

One of our most impactful initiatives is our partnership with former Kamlari women—young girls who were once victims of bonded labor in Nepal. Through training and employment, we have helped these women reclaim their independence, equipping them with valuable skills and the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Fair trade is more than a certification for us—it’s a commitment to uplifting communities, protecting workers' rights, and creating fashion with a purpose.
